Goodman Contractors have recently taken delivery of the first Mack MP10-powered Super-Liner to hit the road in New Zealand. Replacing their 1997 Mack CL575 on transporter duties, this new working dog is earning its keep towing an MTE 3 rows of 8 widener transporter trailer.

Their Mack Super-Liner is equipped with a 685Hp MP10 engine with the Mack m DRIVE automated manual transmission and Meritor 50-160 rear bogie AP460 Air Suspension.

Moving earth since 1963

Goodman Contractors is a family-owned contracting business established in 1963 by Rick Goodman, specializing in large scale earthmoving projects. Based in Waikanae, just over an hour north from Wellington, the new Super-Liner will be kept busy transporting Goodman’s wide array of earthmoving and plant equipment between the team's various projects.

Loving the smoothness of m DRIVE

Goodmans were keen to empace the latest technology available for their new tractor unit. Director Stan Goodman and regular driver Marcello Giacon have been impressed with their new purchase.

“I love the smoothness and efficiency of the m DRIVE automated manual transmission,” says Marcello, “and the overall comfort and drivability of this new Mack is quite superb.”

Bigger is better

As for power, Stan Goodman is a fan of the MP10 engine: “Bigger is better as far as we’re concerned,” says Stan “we’re believers in having horsepower to get the job done. After a day in the demonstrator, we couldn't fault it and we really saw the benefits of the m DRIVE.”
